VALUE OTHER’S PERSPECTIVE
Sometimes couples are very alike, yet many times opposites attract; therefore, you and your partner may have different mindsets or perspectives. These differences may be what attracted you to them in the first place or what balances out the relationship. However, differences can also put a strain on a relationship and complicate situations when a couple is not seeing eye to eye.
When disagreeing on certain matters, it is important sometimes to take a step back and see things from the other person’s point of view and put yourself in their shoes for a moment. This will make understanding and seeing each other’s outlook not only easier but also more effective, strengthening the way in which a couple thinks about each other and supports one another during times of disagreement in a relationship. At times if an issue is not too significant, it is best to drop the dispute and agree to disagree, setting forth things that are more important to the relationship.
